With its crystal clear, shallow waters and abundance of shark species The Bahamas is one of the best places in the world to dive with these majestic creatures.
The period from December to April is the best for diving with the great hammerhead sharks (a species classified as Critically Endangered) of Bimini. Bimini is a chain of islands off the coast of Miami, just 50 miles (80 km) away. During this period, great hammerhead sharks congregate off the coast of Bimini in waters approximately 22 feet (7 meters) deep.
Having the opportunity to observe an endangered species up close is an extraordinary experience.
